At the ceremony, Eric was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist, becoming the only triple inductee. He had previously been honored as a member of The Yardbirds in 1992 and Cream in 1993. The 2000 ceremony was filmed for broadcast on VH1 in the U.S., with its first airing on March 8, 2000.
Eric also attended the annual event in 1994 to induct The Band, in 1999 to perform in honor of Curtis Mayfield’s induction, and in 2005 to induct George “Buddy” Guy.
